To Box or Not To Box
I had my second private boxing lesson today. No I do not do this to fight or even think about getting in the ring with someone. I do this for an upper body/cardio workout. Kim and I did this in San Diego and it was a lot of fun and I wanted to do it again. I love it. I have a good time and I get a killer workout. The most important thing is the trainer I have is not someone that pushes my to buy anything, he is not a salesman he did not approach me I approached him, and he genuinely cares and is extremely educated by personal experience which is hard to come by. Towards the end of today's session he said that I should consider getting serious about boxing, and I kind of just looked at him. He said that I have great coordination and speed and that with training I could do really well. At the lessons now I don't really learn the fundamentals to boxing I learn the basic punches -- jab, hook, uppercut...and that's about it since I am doing this mainly for just a workout not the actual boxing. So now I sit and consider....he gave me a few other compliments about how well I am doing which was nice to hear. He said that if I focused on boxing it would be fun and all of my fitness goals would follow. I am considering it...opinions?

Putting on My Big Girl Panties
I have officially been spinning over a week now...well I thought this week I would add in Dedicated Motivated (a type of great circuit training with a great atmosphere for the non-locals). So I spin Monday, Wednesday, Friday and then go to Dedicated Motivated on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Its been awhile since I had been to Dedicated Motivated and if you look back on my posts I am sure you will see a post about how sore I was the first time. I knew this would be like starting over and I would be sore. I went to Dedicated Motivated on Tuesday and as I am jogging I am beginning to feel Monday's spin class...then Wednesday I got my butt up and went to spin in the morning. I could REALLY feel DM's workout from the day before. Today however it really hurts to walk...I could feel that soreness before I even got out of bed. To top it all off today is Thursday so that means back to DM...I text Kim this morning (she is so good for motivating, keeping me on track, and just there to laugh at me) and told her that I felt like I was going to die lol and that I was questioning DM tonight...however she told me to suck it up...SOOOO I am sucking it up, pushing through the pain and going to DM tonight :) We all need someone like Kim in our lives! Thanks Kim!!

I remember that...
Yesterday I went to spin for the first time in forever...Well I have met my old trainer in the form of a girl named Marjie. It was the best spin class I have had since San Diego. YIKES! Today I am sore to prove it. However, when I walked into the class I heard Marjie explaining how the biked work to two ladies. They were obviously new. The harder the workout got the more I heard them laugh. Then after class they stopped me and another lady and asked how long we have been spinning so we talked for a second and I walked on. I heard them still back by the classroom laughing because their legs were like jello and they couldn't walk down the three steps out of the classroom. I couldn't help but giggle as I walked down the main steps. I just kept thinking to myself...ohhh I remember when Kim and I felt that way...and just wait for tomorrow. I would love to be able to see them today to see how they feel ha ha.Publish Post

Grilled Nuggets?
So Chloe loves Chick-fil-a nuggets...and lets be honest...so do I ...well I am trying to hold myself accountable for what I eat and lets be honest nuggets and fries are not anywhere near a good choice. Chick-Fil-A has a new kids meal with grilled nuggets. I asked the cashier if I could order grilled nuggets in an adult meal and she said absolutely...so I did. I was kind of leery about them but they are GREAT! I found the nutrition on them and they work out to be 2 points per serving of 4 nuggets...So I had 8 nuggets which equals 4 points and a cup of fruit which is 0...I had a great filling lunch that was filled with good choices and it was only 4 points...4...I was shocked! And Chloe likes them too, so we will be eating the healthy route at Chick-Fil-A from now on! These would also be great to pick up if you don't have any chicken on hand for a healthy dinner. So glad I found them...they are a eating out must now :)

I am Officially DM
I decided that I would join Dedicated Motivated. I like it there, I am encouraged there, I feel accomplished leaving and can put it on my schedule at a certain time instead of it being whenever I want. Within the next couple weeks I have decided that I will be spinning Mondays and Wednesdays and going to DM Tuesdays and Thursdays I would like to do something Saturday or Sunday as well. This will put me back to the place I was a couple years ago. And hopefully I will be seeing some good results. Hard work pays off....
A few days ago I was still sore from my first session at DM I had made the statement that my arms hurt. Someone asked me "Why are you doing it then" and my answer was so that my arms hurt, and they just rolled their eyes and walked on. Its this kind of lack of motivation that makes people want to quit. Everyone points out the bad and never the good. Its nice to know that I have a friend, Kim, that I can complain about hurting to and she says good! haha. I know its a good thing, but sometimes we all want to complain about it first. :)

I.....AM......
The answer to that should be DM, but my answer is SORE! I tried Dedicated Motivated last night...LOVED it and today I am so sore! I am sure at the 24 hour mark I will not be able to move...I will most definately be going back, and I am actually excited to go again. I haven't been this excited about working out in a long time! YAY to that! :)

It counts for something right...
I have been bad bad bad with working out...UGH...but last night I did trick or treat with Chloe for two hours...all that walking counts for something right?
So Dedicated Motivated has been on my mind all day. The first class is free to try so I think I am going to go try a low impact class. If I love it then I will join if I just like it then I will think about it. I want it to be something I love before I commit. Watching the videos online make me think that I will love it. It reminds me a lot of the workouts Kim and I did with our wonderful trainer Val...just this time it would be a group setting. I also fear feeling out of place because of my weight and out of shapeness...I just don't want to walk in to this place and everyone have these awesomely fit bodies and then me.. So now ...when to go? That will be decided tomorrow...one step at a time...

I'm Back....Again
I had started blogging and then my desktop decided to quit working and Chloe does not let me even think about using my laptop so now that I have my desktop back I can blog again...YAY! I have another blog now to just talk about life in general... A Little Bit of This...A Little Bit of That Check it out..
I have made some changes in my fitness and nutrition from my last post. I am now on weight watchers and having success. Just like everyone else I have my ups and downs and I am willing to try about anything. Fitness Poynters works...its legit....its a drastic lifestyle change and I found myself falling off more than staying on and I decided that it just wasn't for me right now. Not everything is for everyone...Would I go back to it? Most definitely! I am not here to make a million excuses for myself, I just realized that it wasn't working for me right now. I am happy with what I am doing right now and I hope it sticks.
As for my exercise I have been using my Wii Active and doing AbRipperX. This allows me to get up earlier, Chloe sleeps, and I get my workout in. I thought it was good place to start while I work on a sitter while I go to the gym and try to work school into that schedule too. I have recently been considering Dedicated Motivated. I have heard good things about it, but again...would I go? Would I have a sitter to go at 5am? or after work a couple days a week on the days I don't have class? Just something I am going to have to consider for the mean time... Anyone used Dedicated Motivated?

The Past is the Past
Yesterday I had an awful day. Right from the get go. I was running late in the morning and thought I had everything together. I get to work and realize not only did I leave my work out clothes at home I also left my lunch...UGH...So in the end I ended up eating like crap. Could I have made better choices, yes, but I didn't and trust me I paid for it. The food made me so ill. It was not worth it! I did make it to the gym and had a pretty good work out. My legs were already sore from playing catcher the previous night and it was leg day so today I am definitely feeling the tightness. Its funny how although its uncomfortable I LOVE having that feeling. Makes me realize that I really am working my muscles. So even though my food was way off target I am right back on today. After yesterdays after effects it will make me really think about what I order next time!
On a side note me and my gym buddy were having this discussion yesterday how some people are skinny and put NO EFFORT into it. My side of this was they may be skinny but that doesn't mean they are in shape. Not only do I look forward to being "skinny" but mostly I look forward to feeling better!

Double Header
Yesterday turned out to be a good day! Worked all day then went to the gym and found myself way more motivated then what I originally thought. I worked out shoulders and chest and felt great after. I do feel that drive to push myself harder when I am there with someone. My old gym buddy and I used to go hard all the time and I never realized how much was missing from my workouts until I went back to the gym with someone. I think its the fact that I don't want to look like a slacker or like I am not putting all of me effort into my workout. After the gym I came home and made a pretty good dinner (pictured above). It was the first time trying the recipe I made myself. I used 1 zucchini, 2 small squash, 1 medium onion, 1 red pepper, 1 green pepper, mushrooms, and chicken. I mixed that all with Mrs Dash Spicy Teriyaki marinade. It was really tasty. There are a couple things that I would do differently next time. 1. I would use some more chicken, there just wasn't enough in there to really offset all of the veggies. 2. I wouldn't cook it quite as long. I like my veggies semi crunchy and I cooked them just a couple minutes too long. After dinner I then went to play softball. It was a good game and though I could feel my body wearing down I didn't feel exhausted like I expected. So for today its back to the gym again and I do believe its leg day!

I'm Back!
So I have decided to start blogging again. Most importantly it keeps me motivated and allows me to look back on things and realize what I have done and what I haven't. I am really going to try to keep up with it.
I am currently using a meal plan and work out that I got from www.fitnesspoynters.com I purchased this meal plan almost 6 months ago. I know it works I was strict on it for a couple weeks and saw great results, but life happened and I got off track. I felt like every time I tried to get on track something else happen. I have now been working for about a month and getting into the swing of having a job, school, and caring for my sweet Chloe so its time to focus and make myself a priority. I have a new gym buddy which is very exciting. We start our work outs together on Monday. We went to the gym this past Thursday and did some cardio since the guy signing her up took forever.
So my plan for the blog is just sharing my story and my progress. I also plan on sharing any delicious recipes I come across. I do plan on trying a few new ones this week. Hopefully this will be a great way to keep myself and other people motivated. Enjoy your Saturday everyone!! The weather is NICE get out and enjoy it :)

Lack of Motivation
Yet again it has been a while since I posted! I haven't had the motivation to really do anything. I feel very drained and kind of stressed out, but I feel that things are turning around. I am starting to sleep better and I am going back to the gym tonight. I actually want to get little things done again. Its nice to be returning to my old self again. Jason comes home very soon so I really need to get my motivation and energy back! I will try to start writing more often again :)

What a Wonderful Day
So its been a while since I wrote an entry, so I thoought I would type one up. Just been going to the gym as usual. I am down another 2lbs...that makes 22lbs total! I realize that consistancy does pay off in the long run. Yesterday was so nice out we decided to do our intervals outside on the track. It is another gorgeous day out so maybe we will do the same tonight. Tonight we are doing the dreaded leg workout and then about 60 mins of some kind of cardio.

Feeling Good...Even If I Have To Fake It!
So today I did NOT want to go to the gym. My arms and abs were sore, I wanted to just go home and do nothing! Instead of going home, I went to the gym. I get there and there are no machines open....no lockers open....that was my easy excuse to leave....instead I just took all my stuff into the aerobics room and started working on my legs! Did it hurt?? YES! I suffered through it and made myself work. It was hard but I know that I have to do it! Then after my leg work out...or should I say lower body because it hurts everything from my belly button down, I went back to the cardio machines, I did 45 minutes are cardio and then I was done for the evening. I came home and wanted fast food so bad, but I didn' give in and I ate yummy veggie corn dogs instead and they were delicious and then I had a nerds rope, I know candy is not good for you, but it tasted wonderful and it was only 90 calories! So I am ok with the nerds rope :)

Don't Make Me Laugh
Last night I got a new upper body workout! Its really great and I can definitely feel my muscles working. I woke up a little sore but not as much as I thought I would be. I can move, but I can feel what muscles I worked. I did not realize that my abs were sore until someone at work made me laugh today. I am hoping to have noticeable differences with this new routine. I just have to keep on keepin on! I can tell that I am in a lot better shape then before. Yesterday when we were running/walking the track we decided to sprint the last straight and I wasn't completely out of breath! YAY ME! I got a cramp in my leg and it made me feel old but that's besides the point lol. Back to the gym tonight....legs and lots of cardio FUN!

Spinning Was Canceled!
The past few days have been painful. Changing up your routine is rough! Today was the first day that my legs did not hurt all that bad, but then I have to work legs tomorrow so then I will be sore again, AHH. Yesterday was just Zumba, which was good, Val was sick so we didn't get to do arms. Then today spinning was canceled. So intervals it was today and now my legs kind of hurt :( Spin with Val tomorrow, great! She is probably going to kill us....I hope not....I think I am going to be lazy today with the exception of a few things :)

Why can't I walk up the stairs?
Tonight we met with our wonderful trainer. She killed us! The pain is a great feeling but at the same time it isn't. I know that it is paying off. Basically, she changed our whole workout which is nice because I was starting to get tired of the old one. I think that the stuff that we are doing now is showing how much we have improved since we started. So, I come home from the gym and start to go upstairs except my muscles hurt so bad. So, I take one stair at a time and finally make it ha ha! After showering and what not I go back downstairs to watch some TV. I sat there for about an hour and then attempted to get up and realized that I am going to be extremely sore come tomorrow. I have to suck it up. I know this is good for me and I know that this is going to help me reach my goal. Today food wise, was pretty good. I didn't get as much fruits and vegetables in as I would have liked or should have, but did not go over my calorie limit so I am happy with that. I am hoping that I am able to get out of bed tomorrow morning to go to spinning, I will try my hardest!
My First Post- What this blog is all about :)
Hello everyone! Welcome to my new blog. I chose to start blogging becuase I am on this journey of losing weight, and just being healthy. I really wish I would have started this from the very beggining, but I didn't. I want to be able to look back at this journey and read about all of the hard times, the good times, and see the goals that I have set and completed. So, to give you an idea of where I am at with this journey....I have been consistently working out and trying to eat right since October 27th. I have lost a total of 20lbs as of today. I couldn't do it alone, so I have a workout buddy, Kim :) Without her I probably wouldn't be so dedicated. I do have a trainer, thanks to the wonderful Semper Fit program at the base, that I meet with every once in a while. She changes up our routine about every 6 weeks or so. I hope that you all enjoy my new blog and please leave comments, I love feedback! Thanks for reading :)
